Ready to start school on the RIGHT track?
The Back-to-School plan is a great fit for families who want a smooth transition back to school. In five sessions, our experts will teach parents/caregivers how to support their children with basic coping skills, better sleep, and healthy habits that stick.
Session One : Readying for Change
Start your TLK journey with a collaborative goal-setting session with your therapist. They will guide you to think about what may interfere with returning to school on the RIGHT foot.
Session Two : Inviting Calm
We’ll teach you how to teach your child specific relaxation techniques that are known to calm our minds and bodies. You’ll also make a plan to help your child practice, then use these skills independently.
Session Three : Getting Good Sleep
Research shows that sleep is a critical contributor to our abilities to regulate our emotions and attention. Plus, we know that learning solidifies while we sleep! Our experts will help guide you to make decisions to improve your child’s sleep schedule and habits.
Session Four : Helping Healthy Habits
We’ll teach you how to guide your child to develop or maintain a new habit that will be helpful for the new school year. Then you can use these same techniques to establish other behaviors you want them to develop!
Session Five : Tolerating Distress
Sometimes we forget to use coping skills, or we’re already caught up in big emotions. In this session, learn how to teach your child self-soothing techniques that can help them (and you!) manage those overwhelming feelings.
